About the Role

We are looking for a creative, motivated and detail-driven Marketing & Website Design Assistant to join our growing team and help small, local businesses showcase themselves effectively online.

This role is ideal for someone who understands the power of marketing, enjoys creating engaging content and is eager to learn how modern website design and digital strategy come together to drive real results.

Full training is provided.

You do not need extensive experience or technical knowledge to apply. What matters most is your creativity, communication skills, attention to detail, strong work ethic and genuine interest in helping local businesses grow.

Key Responsibilities:

With structured training, guidance and hands-on experience, you will:

  • Create engaging content for client websites, including page copy, landing pages and supporting marketing material.
  • Design effective page layouts that guide visitors, hold attention and encourage action.
  • Learn to design and build attractive, user-friendly websites that clearly communicate a business’s value.
  • Support the creation of wireframes, mock-ups and page layouts using modern design tools.
  • Assist with developing and updating websites using content management systems such as WordPress.
  • Apply responsive design principles so websites work seamlessly across desktop, tablet and mobile devices.
  • Help maintain existing websites, including content updates, basic troubleshooting and quality checks.
  • Assist in developing tailored marketing strategies for small, local businesses and their customers.
  • Create and manage content for social media platforms, understanding how different platforms engage different audiences.
  • Support the planning and execution of digital marketing campaigns.
  • Learn how branding, messaging, SEO, analytics and user experience influence customer behaviour and performance.
  • Analyse engagement and performance data to help improve future content, websites and campaigns.
  • Collaborate with designers, developers, marketers and clients to bring ideas to life and achieve meaningful results.
  • Contribute creative ideas to improve website usability, structure, visual presentation and campaign effectiveness.

 

Candidate Requirements

  • Have the right to live and work in the UK
  • Achieved C/4 and above in English and maths GSCE
  • Have a creative eye and enjoy thinking about how content, layout and design influence engagement.
  • Communicate ideas clearly, both in writing and in conversation.
  • Are confident using or learning digital tools and platforms.
  • Are fluent in how social media platforms work and how people interact with them.
  • Have strong attention to detail and take pride in producing high-quality work.
  • Are organised, reliable and able to manage tasks responsibly.
  • Enjoy learning, experimenting and continuously improving.
  • Have an interest in how websites, marketing and digital tools help small businesses grow.
  • Bring a positive, resilient mindset and are prepared to put in consistent effort.
  • You will be client facing, so good customer service and communication skills are needed.

 

The Apprenticeship

This role will be part of a level three Multi-Channel Marketer apprenticeship provided by The Marketing Trainer. The apprenticeship covers a wide range of topics over its 15-month duration, including:

  • Campaign management;
  • Content creation;
  • Social Media marketing;
  • Digital and traditional communications;
  • Brand management;
  • Communication skills;
  • Project Management;
  • And much, much more.

All training and support will be conducted remotely via small group training cohorts and one-to-one coaching sessions that ensure you receive individualised support along the entirety of the apprenticeship.

In addition to this, the successful candidate will be enrolled on a full CIM Foundation Certificate at no extra cost. This means that once you’re finished on the apprenticeship you’ll be awarded two distinct qualifications as opposed to one.
