If you love data and research, this is for you! Your role will involve investigating, designing, and setting up research projects, analysing data, and reporting on your findings. This includes capturing, comparing, and analysing primary and secondary research data and ensuring data quality. Additionally, you’ll be leading research project elements and collaborating with internal and external stakeholders.

This Standard is most suited to organisations with:
- Existing marketing teams or research functions;
- It works well in-house as well as in agencies and across a number of sectors and industries;
- It’s perfect for businesses that already conduct audience, competitor, product, and other forms of market research.
We’d recommend this apprenticeship to:
- Individuals with one or more years of experience in generalist marketing roles or who hold synergistic qualifications;
- People who have a general interest in data, statistics, or social sciences;
- Anyone who wants to build a career in market research either in-house or working for clients.
- Employer costs: £8,000 or £400*
- Typically lasts for 15 months plus a month for end-point assessment;
- Our apprenticeships are delivered online with individual and group support with a designated Coach. No more boring classroom sessions;
- Upon completion, learners will be awarded a recognised Market Research Executive level 4 accreditation as well as an equivalent MRS qualification free of charge.
* If you do not have an annual payroll of £3mil or more, the UK Government will fund up to 95% of the costs of apprenticeships for your business.
The Market Research Executive Level 4 apprenticeship is designed to provide individuals with the skills, knowledge, and experience needed to excel in the market research industry. During this apprenticeship, you will cover a wide range of topics and skills, including:
Understanding the basic principles and techniques of market research, including data collection methods, data analysis, and interpretation of findings;
Planning and managing research projects, including setting objectives, determining methodology, managing budgets, and timelines;
Identifying and pursuing business opportunities, building relationships with clients, and ensuring that research projects meet client needs;
Developing effective communication and presentation skills, including writing reports, creating presentations, and delivering findings to clients;
Understanding statistical concepts and techniques used in market research, such as regression analysis, sampling techniques, and data modeling;
Managing and visualizing data using tools such as Excel, SPSS, PowerBI, Google Data Studio, and Tableau;
Understanding the legal and ethical considerations that arise in market research, such as data privacy, confidentiality, and informed consent.
Additionally, you will work toward an MRS Advanced Certificate in Market and Social Research Practice which is a level four accreditation from the Market Research Society. You can find out more about the standard here.
