About the Role
We’re recruiting on behalf of our client for a Social Media Marketing Apprentice who will support their Creative Lead with day-to-day marketing activity.
This is a hands-on, structured role designed to give a solid foundation in marketing without overwhelming workload expectations. You’ll gain exposure to social media, content creation, and campaign support while building core workplace skills like communication, organisation, and creativity.
Key Responsibilities
Content Support
- Assist in creating social media content across multiple brands: hotel, restaurant, pub and interiors & beauty brand (copy, images, basic video edits)Schedule content using social media tools (e.g. Iconosquare)
- Proofread content for clarity and accuracy
Campaign Assistance
- Support the setup of marketing campaigns
- Gather and organise content and assets
- Track basic performance metrics (likes, shares, clicks)
- Assist with photoshoots and marketing events
Research Tasks
- Conduct competitor and trend research
- Source inspiration for campaigns and content
- Present findings in a clear, simple format
Administrative Support
- Organise marketing files and assets
- Maintain content calendars and trackers
- Attend meetings and support with note-taking
Creative Development
- Contribute ideas in brainstorming sessions
- Use tools such as Canva to support design work
- Learn brand guidelines and tone of voice

Learning & Development
This role is built to develop skills over time. The apprentice will:
- Build a solid understanding of key marketing channels
- Develop communication and teamwork skills
- Gain confidence using marketing and creative tools
- Receive regular guidance and feedback from an experienced mentor
What They’re Looking For
- Applicants must have the right to work in the UK.
- Achieved a C/4 and above in GCSE English and maths
- Genuine interest in marketing, social media, and design
- Willingness to learn and take on feedback
- Basic understanding of social media platforms
- Strong work ethic and positive attitude
- Driving licence (preferred/required due to location)
- Basic editing skills (e.g. Canva or CapCut)
- Interest in both the creative and data side of marketing
- Ability to showcase personal or project-based social media work
The Apprenticeship
This role forms part of the Level 3 Multi-Channel Marketer apprenticeship, delivered by The Marketing Trainer.
Over approximately 15 months, the programme covers:
- Campaign management
- Content creation
- Social media marketing
- Digital and offline communications
- Brand management
- Project management
- Communication and professional skills
Training is delivered remotely through small group sessions and one-to-one coaching, ensuring tailored support throughout.
The successful candidate will also complete a CIM Foundation Certificate at no additional cost, gaining two recognised qualifications upon completion.
