Background
When EWI first connected with us, their marketing team was in need of fresh energy. The department was small, stretched thin, and working under tight budgets. They struggled to find early-career marketing talent who could balance creativity with practical marketing know-how. In particular, the business needed someone who could inject consistency and originality into their social media and campaign output — while helping to strengthen relationships with their installer network.
That’s when Hannah joined the team through the Multi-Channel Marketer Level 3 apprenticeship. With an illustration degree under her belt, she brought a strong creative foundation — but this role would give her the structure, experience, and qualifications to turn that creativity into commercial marketing value.
From the outset, Hannah made a noticeable impact. Her creativity and enthusiasm reinvigorated EWI’s online presence, with content that was not only more engaging but also visually distinctive. Her illustration skills added a unique flair to EWI’s campaigns, giving the brand a more polished and cohesive identity across channels. Hannah produced a range of materials — from social media graphics and campaign visuals to internal marketing assets — helping the small team increase their creative output and reduce bottlenecks.
Her line manager, Liam, highlighted that Hannah’s “can-do attitude and willingness to get stuck in” helped double the team’s creative capacity at a critical time. Campaigns that had previously taken weeks to produce began to move from concept to launch much faster, without sacrificing quality. This freed up time for strategic planning and improved campaign delivery overall.
But Hannah’s contributions went beyond design. Her natural communication skills and empathy helped her build trust with EWI’s installer community — a key audience for the business. She listened to their stories, gathered feedback, and made sure their experiences were reflected authentically in EWI’s marketing. This strengthened the relationship between the marketing team and its wider community, driving engagement and loyalty.
Over the course of the apprenticeship, Hannah’s confidence grew significantly. She learned how to manage email newsletters, coordinate multi-platform social campaigns, and use Adobe software and CMS tools effectively. She also began leading small projects, managing campaigns from start to finish — from designing social assets and newsletters to preparing web banners and scheduling posts.
Reflecting on her journey, Hannah said:
“I chose an apprenticeship because I wanted real-life experience in a company rather than another three years of university. I’ve learned so much — from running campaigns to using professional tools — and it’s made me more confident and proud of my career.”
By the time she completed her apprenticeship, Hannah had not only achieved a Distinction in her CIM Foundation Certificate in Professional Marketing but had also become an indispensable member of EWI’s marketing team.
Her success demonstrates the value of investing in emerging marketing talent — and how apprenticeships, when supported by a structured training provider like The Marketing Trainer, can transform creative potential into professional excellence.
