Salary: £18,000

Additional qualification: Free CIM Foundation Certificate worth £800+

A small independent sustainable grocery business focused on eco-friendly and low-waste shopping. The company offers refillable household and food products, prioritises organic and vegan options, and works with local suppliers to encourage more environmentally conscious consumer habits. Its mission is to make sustainable living more practical and accessible through ethical sourcing and reduced packaging waste.

 

About the Role

We are looking for a creative and motivated Marketing & Community Apprentice to join our team in Brighton. This is a great opportunity for someone who is interested in marketing, design, social media, and sustainability, and wants to gain hands-on experience in a growing ethical business.

You’ll work closely with the marketing team to help promote sustainable living, support community events, and keep our brand looking consistent across stores and online platforms.

 

Key Responsibilities:

You will be involved in the following as part of the overall marketing plan:

Brand & Social Media

  • Help create social media posts, newsletters, and in-store posters using brand templates
  • Support seasonal campaigns such as Earth Day, Veganuary, and Christmas
  • Help keep our social media, website, and store visuals consistent and up to date
  • Learn how to maintain a strong brand identity and tone of voice

Community & Partnerships

  • Support local events, markets, and sustainability projects
  • Help connect with local businesses, gyms, schools, and charities
  • Gather stories and content from suppliers and community partners
  • Assist with planning in-store community events

In-Store Marketing

  • Help create shelf labels, signs, recipe cards, and displays
  • Support seasonal window displays and visual merchandising in both stores
  • Work with the team to make stores welcoming, informative, and visually engaging

Content & Communication

  • Help plan content ideas for social media and blogs
  • Support the creation of newsletters and LinkedIn posts
  • Learn how to review content and improve engagement
  • Assist with reporting and marketing feedback

 

Candidate Requirements

  • Right to work and live in the UK
  • Achieved GCSE English and maths at 4/C and above
  • Interest in marketing, design, sustainability, or social media
  • Creative mindset and good attention to detail
  • Friendly, confident, and willing to learn
  • Good communication and teamwork skills
  • Basic knowledge of Canva, Instagram, or content creation is helpful but not essential
  • A positive attitude, strong work ethic, and willingness to get involved, learn, and take on new challenges
  • Ability to work on-site regularly and be actively involved in day-to-day store and community activities

 

 

The Apprenticeship

This role will be part of a level three Multi-Channel Marketer apprenticeship provided by The Marketing Trainer. The apprenticeship covers a wide range of topics over its 15-month duration, including:

  • Campaign management;
  • Content creation;
  • Social Media marketing;
  • Digital and traditional communications;
  • Brand management;
  • Communication skills;
  • Project Management;
  • And much, much more.

All training and support will be conducted remotely via small group training cohorts and one-to-one coaching sessions that ensure you receive individualised support along the entirety of the apprenticeship.

In addition to this, the successful candidate will be enrolled on a full CIM Foundation Certificate at no extra cost. This means that once you’re finished on the apprenticeship you’ll be awarded two distinct qualifications as opposed to one.
