About the Company
Our client is an 11 – 16 secondary school in Salford and is part of the largest multi-academy trust in the UK. They’re looking for a driven individual to join their team as a Marketing Apprentice on the Multi-Channel Marketer level 3 apprenticeship with an embedded CIM.
About the Role
The main purpose of the role is to manage internal and external online and offline communications for the academy raising awareness of the school’s academic excellence and exciting offering for students, maximizing the number of student admissions by coordinating effective admissions campaigns, and elevating the school’s reputation within the local community.
You will be responsible for the marketing, recording and communication of all activities and events pertaining to students and visitors to the school, building good relationships with key members of staff to identify upcoming events and stories.
You will own the academy website, social media and events calendar and have experience in campaign planning and evaluation.
Key Responsibilities
As a Marketing Apprentice, you’ll have a wide range of end-to-end marketing responsibilities including:
- Adhering to brand guidelines across all digital and offline communications for both the academy and wider organisation;
- Collaborating with the Cluster Marketing and Communications Manager to devise strategies ensuring stakeholder satisfaction and meeting admissions objectives;
- Working collaboratively with stakeholders across the cluster to ensure effective project management;
- Developing and maintaining the school’s social media presence, managing content calendars, and creating engaging written and visual content across various platforms and monitoring key performance indicators to gauge campaign effectiveness;
- Analysing trends and competitor performance, as well as collaborating with local organisations and influencers;
- Owning and overseeing the website, including maintaining, updating, and curating high-quality content through the CMS;
- Coordinating website compliance to meet OFSTED and DfE requirements, safeguarding, and security standards, collaborating with key academy staff for relevant sections.
- Ensuring engaging, up-to-date content tailored to parents and students is essential, while leveraging the website as an effective recruitment tool for prospective students and staff;
- Curating a library of high-quality photography and video for digital and print platforms, and crafting compelling content for the website, newsletters, and press releases to enhance academy visibility and engagement;
- Designing professional marketing materials for key events such as admissions and parents’ evenings, maintaining updated corridor displays in collaboration with staff and reprographics, and coordinating in-house printing;
- Leveraging relevant channels to effectively disseminate communications to diverse stakeholders, ensuring both internal and external communication reflects the academy’s values and ethos;
- Supporting community initiatives and projects to foster PR opportunities and relationships is essential, alongside working with group’s press agency to write and distribute news releases;
- Overseeing academy-hosted events, ensuring effective promotion and marketing while maintaining a network contact list of external parties and attendees;
- Evaluating the impact of events and reporting findings to the Senior Leadership Team and Cluster Marketing & Communications Manager;
- Leading project management for and attending public relations and student recruitment events, such as Prize Giving Evening, Open Evenings, Prom Nights, and GCSE Day, is integral to enhancing the academy’s image and attracting prospective students.
Candidate Requirements
- Has the right to live and work in the UK.
- Will hold a degree in a synergistic subject such as English, Journalism, Graphic Design, Psychology, etc;
- Will have excellent interpersonal skills;
- Be a team player;
- Have a ‘can do’ attitude;
- You should have outstanding verbal and written communication skills;
- May have some experience of creating content for social media, websites and publications including photography, video and graphic design;
- May have some experience with Canva or other design software;
- Hold GCSEs in English and maths at grade C/4 and above;
- And, you should be passionate about inspiring young adults.

The Apprenticeship
This role will be part of a level three Multi-Channel Marketer apprenticeship provided by The Marketing Trainer. The apprenticeship covers a wide range of topics over its 15-month duration, including:
- Campaign management;
- Content creation;
- Social Media marketing;
- Digital and traditional communications;
- Brand management;
- Communication skills;
- Project Management;
- And much, much more.
All training and support will be conducted remotely via small group training cohorts and one-to-one coaching sessions that ensure you receive individualised support along the entirety of the apprenticeship.
In addition to this, the successful candidate will be enrolled on a full CIM Foundation Certificate at no extra cost. This means that once you’re finished on the apprenticeship you’ll be awarded two distinct qualifications as opposed to one.
