About the role

Our client, based in central Bristol, is seeking a Marketing Assistant as part of a Multi-Channel Marketer apprenticeship to join their dynamic team. The successful candidate will contribute to the success of their international trade exhibitions, working across a range of marketing platforms to ensure successful event promotion. This role offers an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience in various marketing disciplines and is ideal for someone proactive, motivated, and creative.

Key responsibilities:

This position will involve supporting international events, including working with external suppliers, speakers, and partners. Typical responsibilities include:

  • Supporting marketing campaigns to meet registration and attendee targets.
  • Building partnerships with associations and publications, maintaining strong relationships throughout the event cycle.
  • Identifying and liaising with keynote speakers for events.
  • Crafting marketing emails, campaigns, and newsletters.
  • Updating and maintaining websites with event features, speaker information, articles, and partner details.
  • Designing marketing assets using tools like Canva.
  • Managing visitor and sales data in Excel and preparing reports.
  • Proposing and implementing innovative ideas to reach new audiences.

Required experience and skills:

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Highly organised and able to prioritise tasks effectively.
  • Confident communicator, comfortable engaging with partners and speakers over the phone.
  • Strong attention to detail and creative thinking.
  • Willingness to work extra hours when required to ensure successful event delivery.
  • Any previous marketing or communications experience is advantageous but not essential.

The ideal candidate will be proactive, high-energy, and eager to learn. They’ll bring creativity, attention to detail, and a positive attitude to their work. They should thrive in a team setting and be comfortable engaging with people both in person and over the phone.

The apprenticeship

This role will be part of a level three Multi-Channel Marketer apprenticeship provided by The Marketing Trainer. The apprenticeship covers a wide range of topics over its 15-month duration, including:

  • Campaign management;
  • Content creation;
  • Social Media marketing;
  • Digital and traditional communications;
  • Brand management;
  • Communication skills;
  • Project Management;
  • And much, much more.

All training and support will be conducted remotely via small group training cohorts and one-to-one coaching sessions that ensure you receive individualised support along the entirety of the apprenticeship.

In addition to this, the successful candidate will be enrolled on a full CIM Foundation Certificate at no extra cost. This means that once you’re finished on the apprenticeship you’ll be awarded two distinct qualifications as opposed to one.
