Our client is an award-winning financial advisory firm based in Altrincham, Greater Manchester. They advise individuals, families, and business owners on what financial plans they need to put in place to achieve their financial goals and objectives for the future. Their services range from retirement planning and investment planning to personal and business protection, inheritance tax planning, employee financial wellbeing and NHS Pension Reviews.


Role Description

This is a fully on-site, full-time role as a Marketing Assistant as part of a Multi-Channel Marketer apprenticeship.

Our client is seeking an ambitious individual to join their marketing team. This role is ideal for someone who is passionate about marketing, eager to learn, and ready to contribute to various marketing initiatives.

Working within their experienced marketing team you will get the opportunity to produce and deliver a wide range of marketing communications across a range of channels, whilst aiding the delivery of their events programme and social media content, with exposure to digital marketing, website development and client experience. This role will involve database management so attention to detail is essential.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Supporting the delivery of our client’s events programme – virtual and in-person; including the creation of guest lists, invitations, presentations, follow-up activity and supporting the Senior Marketing Manager with reporting on the outcome of events;
  • CRM champion and ensuring data is correctly updated by admin teams;
  • Proofreading print and digital communications and ensuring relevant compliance approval where required;
  • Collaborate with the marketing team to produce social media content and ensure delivery of at least 3 posts per week across the platforms we utilise;
  • Liaising with external marketing partners such as printers and digital in the production and fulfilment of marketing projects;
  • Creation and deployment of e-mail marketing and creative/graphic assets – using their e-mail service platform, with data management responsibility;
  • Monitoring and reporting on marketing campaigns and event metrics with collaborative input on optimisation;
  • Basic editing of our WordPress website, with an eye for UX improvements and performance developments. (Including the use of Google Analytics and SEO techniques).


The ideal candidate will:

  • Ideally, you’ll hold a degree or qualifications in subjects such as journalism, English, Graphic Design, or Business (We’re unable to consider those with marketing degrees);
  • Have familiarity with social media platforms and digital marketing trends;
  • Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint);
  • Basic graphic design skills using tools like Adobe Creative Suite or Canva.


As a candidate, you should have:

  • A strong attention to detail;
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills;
  • Time management, planning and organisational skills with the ability to prioritise and manage a wide variety of tasks within deadlines;
  • Strong problem-solving skills, capable of seeking alternative solutions and a proactive approach to tasks;
  • Creativity and the ability to think outside the box;
  • An analytical mindset with the ability to interpret data and draw insights;
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment;
  • Able to engage with, develop and build relationships with key stakeholders;
  • Eagerness to learn and adapt to new challenges;
  • Enthusiasm for staying updated on industry trends and marketing innovations.

The marketing apprenticeship

The Multi-Channel Marketer Level 3 Apprenticeship covers a wide range of marketing topics over its 15-month duration, including:

  • Campaign management;
  • Content creation;
  • Social Media marketing;
  • Digital and traditional communications;
  • Brand management;
  • Communication skills;
  • Project Management;
  • And much, much more.

Overall, it’s the Swiss army knife of marketing apprenticeships. But, to sweeten the deal even more, we also enrol our apprentices on a Foundation certificate with the CIM. So, once you’ve completed the programme, you’ll have two qualifications, not just one like most other training providers.
